Moving Through Conflict with Love for the People
Somatic, Experiential, Skill-Building Workshop for Movement Workers, Educators and Care Workers
Image description: A light pink background, with multicolored stars frames text and a drawing below. The text in magenta reads "Reduced registration now available! Join for either or both days." The text in dark blue reads “Moving Through Conflict with Love for the People,” and in a lighter blue “Somatic, Experiential Skill-Building Workshop for Movement Organizers, Educators and Care Workers,” and in an even brighter blue “April 26 and May 3, 2025 from 10 am - 4 pm in Oakland.” There are three people at the base of the image framed by gold leaves. The people have various genders and skin tones, and are making different expressions with their bodies reflecting emotions.
We are excited to offer skills toward:
embodying empathy in conflicts, with attention to power dynamics
supporting people to hold multiple truths as a facilitator when emotions are high and across difference while not losing yourself or your integrity/values
tools and practices to hold space as a conflict worker
self-reflection on how we navigate conflict in our lives, including our full selves without separating this from the work of supporting comrades who are in conflict and hurting
We hope participants will leave this workshop with:
greater capacity to enter complex dynamics while staying present with themselves
more questions than answers, motivated to keep learning
We are grateful for a small grant from the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence, and in order to make it all work, we are also charging a fee at a sliding scale (details in the google form). If cost is a barrier, please reach out.
